Painless Customer
R Jay
Man, I thought I'd throw in a little from a store owner's point of view. We sell A LOT of Painless Wiring. It's an excellent product and the name sells itself, so our job is easy, but I had a small case just today that I will share. A good customer called this morning to let me know that he thought that something may be missing from his Painless kit. It was the third kit he'd bought from us. I got on the horn with Gill at Painless to see what could be done about the harness and the first thing he said is why are you even in the middle here? We build the product and will glady talk with the customer to see what we can do - that way we have no communication or translation break down in between. Gill got the customer's number and called him immediately. I got a call back from my customer about 10 minutes later before I could even call him back to see how he was handled. He said that he didn't expect such quick action, and he didn't expect a call directly from Painless, but Gill figured out the very small problem and immediately took care of it from Painless' end. This may sound like it was easy on my part and it was, but I thought it was very professional of the manufacturer to jump in and get the problem handled, without the speed shop having to be the go-between, hassling with warranty, etc. That made Painless stand out in my book, and it makes me feel like backing a good product even more, now that I know that I can count on my manufacturer to back us up in the store! My life just got a little simpler today - I know a lot of companies that turn out product only to let the speed shop middle-man bear the grief when problems arise! Thanks Painless.

2010 New Product Sneak Peek

Painless’ staff has been hard at work for this latter half of 2009 to bring some very innovative products to the market in the first quarter of 2010. Our engineers’ focus was shifted to solid state electronics and how that technology could be used to benefit our customers and installers. So, they looked at what new production vehicles offer as creature comforts and then devised some very innovative products that make it easy to enjoy these on just about any classic hot rod or off road vehicle. Let’s take a look at what they came up with…

Part #63041Our first new product to sneak a peek at is the 63041 Painless Convenience Module. This totally solid state controller works with a vehicle’s existing wiring. Connections are made to a vehicle’s headlight switch, ignition switch and radio. An alarm buzzer is mounted under the dash and a light sensor can be mounted on top of the dash or the a-pillar. The kit comes complete with wire harness, wire taps and mounting hardware. Conveniences programmed into this PCM include: Dome light dim out; Headlight shut off delay; Radio power is timed out; Automatic headlights; Turn signals chime and Headlight switch chime. Part #30140Our second new product to sneak a peek at is the 30140 F5 Dual Fan Controller. Electric cooling fans have become a mainstay when it comes to keeping any type of project vehicle’s engine cool. This state of the art fan control system includes a weather proofed and under hood rated solid state pulse width modulation controller, 3/8 NPT threaded temperature sensor, large gauge fan wires and a labeled vehicle integration wire harness, mounting hardware and weatherproof circuit breaker and connectors. The 30140 F5 Dual Fan Controller is rated to control two 35 Amp cooling fans. Controller features include stepped fan control such as controlling fan #1 from 50% up to 99% and then bringing in fan #2 if more cooling is needed or the A/C is kicked on. Also available in a single fan control configuration that can handle a single 70 Amp cooling fan such as those found on many late model Ford vehicles. Click here to see all of the benefits both of these modern fan controllers can offer you.

Part #40120The third product sneak peek is at our 40120 Digital Power Manager. This solid state dual battery controller eliminates manual switching and any second guessing when using a secondary battery in any vehicle. Included in the kit is the weather proof Digital Power Manager, battery cables, terminals, heat shrink, mounting hardware and an indicator light. All of these products are in their finalization stages so stay tuned for a release date.
